How Art Preserves History

Ever since the first ever stages of art (Hieroglyphics) it has been used as a form too captured moments of history so that they can be remembered. In fact, a lot of early history wouldn’t be known without art telling us the story of what happened. A great Example of an art form that is sometimes used to portray moments of history is Early modern art. Although we already had the radio and most people in first world countries could either red or right Early modern art was an important form of art used to portray event of world wars so people could receive a more visual sense of the events that were taking place and what they looked like.

First of all, I would like to convince you that Art (specifically from The early modern and present era of art) is a great resource for preserving history. I will do this by showing you three different works from the Early modern art era that portray the world wars and three different current works of art that portray modern history and then commenting on their influence.

The first image I have chosen is “Flower Of Death” painted by American artist Claggett Wilson in 1919. This work of art was fundamental to the portrayal of the use of mustard gas in world war one. During world war one the invention and use of mustard gas had come to be used in war. However for all the Americans back home they had only heard of the horrific effects of mustard gas. But with this beautiful work of art people were able to see the perspective from a first-hand account of what mustard gas looks like and the effects of it. One of my favorite things about this work of art is its use of the Art element Color, The painting portrays a beautiful pallet of yellow that helps the viewer see what a sky of mustard gas would look like.SARGENT-GASSED-IWM,LONDON

The second image I have chosen is “Trench warfare ” painted by German artist Otto Dix in1932. The painting portrays the damage and aftermath of trench warfare battle during World war one.  Although there are lots of images that portrayed trench warfare that came out during or after world war one this particular image was important because it came out while the world was on the brink of world war 2. Although this image didn’t stop the war by any means it did help remind people of our dark history surrounded by world war one. This work of art does an incredible job of portraying the art element Space as when I look at it I can immediately see the depth of the trench and vastness of the open wasteland.

Trench Warfare

The third image from the Early Modern art era that I have chosen is “The Second Battle of Ypres” painted by Canadian painter Major Richard Jack in 1919 is a great example of Historic preservation as it brings to light a historic event in which most people aren’t familiar with. This perfectly sums up the reasoning for historic preservation as this work of art has the ability to intrigue people and look into a historic event that they are unaware of. This painting has a great use of the art element of a focal point as when the viewer looks at the painting they are immediately drawn to the soldier whose head is bandaged and pointing to the incoming enemy troops.

canadian war

Now for some Modern art that is capable of capturing a moment in history. Although many of these events are still fresh in our minds these works of art help preserve the events so that we may not forget and so future generations can take part it witnessing the event. “Into the breach” is a painting done by British artist Stewart Brown painted in 2014. This is an important work of art as it shows the new tactics of war that were being used in the Iraq war. Artwork like this helps visualize the progress in advancements that have been made in Modern tech while also helping keep the history of past tech alive. My favorite part of this painting is the Art element of Variety and Variation. It is seen when you notice that multiple events are taking place in the painting.

Into-the-Breach-75th-Ranger

The second painting from the modern era I have chosen is of a controversial topic. The painting  “Black Lives Matter: Mother and Child” by  American artist was painted in 2015 by Deirdre Laughton. The painting is a painted in part of the black lives matter movment it showes lady libery with a dead African american in her arms and along the Flag is images of African American whos lives have been lost. The painting is a great work of art that will help keep the remembrance of the Black lives matter movement. The painting is another Gorgeous work that shares the art element of color as the colors used in the work are very vibrant.

blacklivesmatter-motherandchild

The third and final painting I have chosen is titled “His Loves Embrace” by American Artist in 2009 by  Ilisa Millermoon. The work is a work that portrays the pride of the LGBT community this is another painting that helps preserve a Historic Event which was The LGBT community trying to gain freedoms in American.I must sound repetitive at this point but I absolutely love the Art element of color used in this painting as all the color really pop and at the same time blend together.

lgbt 2

I truly do believe that art is an incredible source for preserving history so that everyone may be aware and I hope that this blog has taken this point home for you.

A quick Side Note as this is my Final Blog. I would like to share with everyone my Journey that this class has taken me on. When I started this class I was extremely unfamiliar with the different kinds of art.( I didn’t even realize the Video games were officially considered art). however, after taking this class, I feel that I am extremely confident in my knowledge of the different art eras and the Element of art its been a rather hard learning curve but I can say that I loved the class.

Polynesian Tattooing

Polynesia incorporates many tribes including Marquesans, Samoans, Niueans, Tongans, Cook Islanders, Hawaiians, Tahitians, and Maori. Historically the Polynesian people didn’t have a written language until the late 17 hundreds. The Polynesians instead used Tattoos as a form of communication. The tattoos would indicate their status in a hierarchical, sexual maturity, genealogy and ones rank. Becuase of its significance in communication nearly everyone in ancient Polynesian society was tattooed. The Tradition of Polynesian tattooing originated over 2000 thousand years ago and is still being performed to this day, in fact, the Word tattoo is derived from the Polynesian word Tatau. All the way up until 1986 the ancient technic was performed using bone shards and ink however it was banned due to the difficulty of sterilizing bones between tattoo recipients. The style is still the same though it is just performed using different tools.

In this blog, I’m going to present 3 different styles or designs of Polynesian tattoos and talk about their meaning. The first Design I am going to present is the Ocean patterns. There are two different bases designs for the Ocean pattern there is the Ocean and Ocean Simplified. The ocean plays a very significant role in Polynesian culture, the ocean is where the politicians lay there deceased to rest and its where they have harvested a good portion of there food for many centuries. The ocean pattern is used to represent Death, Change, Future, and Heritage when used in Polynesian tattoos.

In the last Image, I have attached an image that contains two variations of the Simplified wave pattern. The work was performed by Polynesian tattoo artist Samuel Shaw sometime in the last 10 years. The waves are mixed in a layer of bands that are meant to represent the recipient’s heritage and where he comes from.

The second design that I am going to talk about is the TIKI pattern. Tiki tattoos are meant to represent Human figures that typically hold a statue of a Semi-god, a priest, deceased ancestor, or a chief. The Traditional Tiki tattoo had many renditions including the use of individual characteristics of the Tiki such as the eyes nose or mouth. The Third picture shown below is a Chest Tatto on famous Actor Dwayne the rock Johnson in the middle of the chest tattoo is a Tiki face called two eyes. Two eyes symbolize Dwayne’s ancestors who are now deceased and continue to look over him and bring him good fortune. The tattoo was done by artist Po’oino Yrond as part of his sleave meant to represent his family heritage.

The third and final Design I would like to introduce you too is the Polynesian turtle design the Polynesian turtle also has several variations however the two main ones are Turtle original and Turtle shell pattern. The turtle can symbolize a number of things in Samoan culture s well. It symbolizes Health, fertility, life, Foundation, and peace. The third picture Is a picture of a variation turtle tattoo done by Polynesian Tattoo artist Boze Kapoi. The image was meant to symbolize the balance between peace (turtle) and strength (the shark).

The Polynesian art culture is very much alive with its tattoo works. there are quite a few art elements that can even be found in Polynesian tattoos repeatedly. The strongest of which I believe to be There line work as the tattoos are made up of hundreds of small line segments all pieced together to make a design and the secound of which is there shapes. all of the lines form these beautiful shapes with meaning after meaning layyerd inside each one.

Postmodern Art

Postmodern art is an amazing form of art that includes such a wide variety of different arts my favorite of which is The entertainment industry is one that has been enjoyed for countless years through plays, musicals, Concerts and so on n 1973 the first ever completely hand-drawn animated movie Snow White and the seven dwarfs was released kicking off the Animated industry. In 2012 the video games were officially recognized as a form of art with there with there detailed attempts at animated gameplay. Both of these forms of Art have drastically changed the way art it sean and can be felt. They combine the summed total of multiple senses into an immersive experience.

Studio Ghibli is an incredible movie Studio responsible for over twenty hit animated movies my favorite of which is Spirted away. Spirted away was created in 2001 and was a groundbreaking movie of its time showing unrealistic animations that were capable of capturing the viewer’s attention and immersing them in the world they were experiencing. The movie sported away uses several art elements if not all of them at different points. The strongest of which I believe is Space. The movie takes place in an abandoned theme parking in Japan and when they the main character meets all sorts of different spirits. The Animation does a great job of capturing the Element of space by showing the rolling green hills and the different sizes of the spirits in comparison to the objects around them. The movie does a great job as well at capturing the emotions of wonder and excitement by presenting the viewer with scenarios in which they wouldn’t normally witness.

spirited-awayfoos spirit

Another great animated movie with tons of artistic features in it is Moana made by Disney studios in 2016. The artist had to collaborate on over a hundred different drawings with CGI just to get The main character Moanas hair right. At the time Moana was and mostly still is at the groundbreaking edge of CGI the water in the movie is so artistically advanced the team said it wouldn’t have been possible two years earlier. Moana is a movie full of art elements and emotions, However, the element that stands out most to me are Harmony and Movement. the Harmony seems to pop out easily when you think about all the detail that went into making sure all the different shades mixed in similar pallets and combined to make amazing configuration of Pacific Island artwork. but if you really think about it the element of Movement is very strong in it as well, traditionally movement is talking about a still that has the effect that it’s moving however since it is an animated movie the images are already moving but the impressive part is how fluidly everything in the movie is moving. A second impressive animated work by Disney is the very recent movie that came out in 2018 Named COCO this movie much like Moana tried very hard to stay true the country of origins and in doing so COCO was able to create beautiful pictures based on Hispanic culture. in the movie, the teams worked incredibly hard but many had mentioned that the hardest part was figuring out exactly how a Skeleton would move I feel that their ability to capture that rendition of exactly how a skeleton would move was extremely impressive and definitely earned it the Art element of Motion. Both of these incredible movies I feel are great examples of Postmodern art that is the currently popular form of art.

moana

cocooo

The third Art developer I would like to include is Video game producers Ubisoft Videogame. The company has produced over 45 hit games. very popular though are two of its more recent games the first of which is Assassins Creed Origins which was developed in 2017 the incredible art in this game capturesEygeypt in all of its beauty and lets the player experience it in a third person kind of way as you take your time interacting with the art. The Game has all of the art elements, in my opinion, the strongest of which I believe is its use of variety and Variation which in a general sense is the collective hole of several of these art elements working together to create a masterpiece. The second and extremely recent game by Ubisoft is FarCry 5 released just 3 weeks ago in March of 2018 this game is one of the few games that has attempted to capture a part of North American that the user can explore. The Art element that I am most fond of in this game though is texture.it did an amazing job of capturing a lifelike look of all of the everyday objects in the game.

assassin

Farcry 5

I can say that postmodern art of the entertainment industry is by far my favorite form of art and I’m even proud to say that I own copies of all of the art I have mentioned in this blog. But I think that’s the great thing about animated movies and video games is that they can be own be hundreds of people and that individual people can own hundreds of different version and not worry about the space required to hold all of it.

Early Modern Blog exibit

World War One was the first war to involve all of the major nations. It started in July of  1914 and ended in November of 1918. Development of new Modern technology and weaponry was at an all-time high and for the first time, Trench and tank warfare were being used. Such a large scale war had made it so that was all anyone talked about. News of the war was in all the papers and on the radio. A major place contributor to preserving the history of World War One was found in art. Photography, paintings, sculptors, and even plays were all influenced by “the war to end all wars”. Early modernism is used to describe the time of history when our modern world had first started. Around this time new inventions such as  The Model T was being produced, the radio had been in circulation for not too long and new inventions were springing up all over the Place.

The First work I have chosen is a great representation of modern art that has combining Details of modern advancements in WW1. Over The Top Was painted in 1918 by British painter John Nash. The art depicts his first-hand memories of the battle of Cambria and the men climbing out of the trenches after the battle leaving behind there fallen comrades. The painting is one of the few beautiful works that was painted by an artist who had first hand participated in a battle. The Work has many Beautiful elements but the two strongest are its use of  Movement and Proportion. The movement is easily seen as you can see the soldiers in different stages of crawling out of the trenches onto the Snow covered battlefield. The second element of proportion comes into view and plays a major role by allowing you to get a small comparison of the vast Trench system the seams never-ending used in the war with its size being relatively compared to the men. The Painting also has a very strong emotion of sorrow or grief as you witness the men who are still in shock from the battle trug along the battlefield onto another battle, that is if they were lucky enough to have survived. I personally liked this painting a lot, I have always had an interest in art that depicts major moments in history. Art like this allows the viewer to witness a moment words can barely describe.

Over_the_Top_by_Jo_2961778b

This next work is another painting that showing one of the modern warfare advancements used in World War One. The painting Gassed was completed by American artist John Singer Sargent in March of 1919, just a few months after the war had ended. The painting Gassed depicts the aftermath of a mustard gas attack on the soldiers who are now walking blindly into the dressing camp. The painting has two very strong elements which are Color Saturation and Emphasis. The color Saturation is used very strongly in the different shades of saturated yellow it is able to portray to the viewer the recent use of mustard gas that still lingers in the air and now stains there clothing. The second element of Emphasis is used by presenting the 50 ish soldiers who have cloth wrapped around there eyes. It able to put great emphasis on the fact that these men are blind and wounded. These two elements help bring to attention the emotion of distress in the dressing camp as they are being guided blindly you can see there feeling. Although I don’t like this painting as much as the first I still feel that it is a great work of Early modern art. It’s something I can appreciate as it’s not only an image but allows you to view a window in history.

SARGENT-GASSED-IWM,LONDON

The third and final image I have chosen to present is an extremely unique piece of work that is trying to capture an emotion felt during the war but in a different way. Flower Of Death painted by American artist Claggett Wilson in 1919 again just shortly after the end of the war. The painting is very unique as it depicts the bursting of a heavy shell “not as if feels but as it would have Felt, sounded, and smelt”. The use of the elements Shape and Movement can be pretty plainly seen. The Element of Shape is presented in The 2D depiction is the lines take the form to represent the moment of ignition and explosion. The second Element of movement is seen when looking at the small specs meant to represent debris flying towards the unsispecting man. The painting has a strong emotion of discomfort as its allowing you to witness the unfathomable small moment in time when a shell makes an impact and ignites. I myself don’t particularly care for this work of art. Although I can see how some people may like it I think the methods used are primitive and not very hard to achieve.SAAM-1981.163.18_1

The paintings of Early modern art that depicted scenes of World War One are Beautiful forms of art that I have a great appreciation for. Their ability to capture an important moment in time is invaluable to help keep history alive and known.

Preferences and Perspectives: The Romantic Era

Realism Vs Romanticism

In the early 19th century romanticism was the one the leading forms of art it had become popular thanks to its emphasis on emotion and individualism. Realism came to be mostly because of the Modernity, the Age of enlightenment and as a reaction against Neo-classism.most Romanticism art can be distinguished by some of the key features found in its works such as art with a love for nature and the escape from reality in the art.

The Romanticism painting Wanderer Above The Sea fog has the key characteristic of showing an escape from reality a love for nature all tied together. Painted by Casper David Friedrich In 1818 in his homeland of Germany the painting captures many Art elements but in my personal opinion, I think it best captures Value, Unity, and line work. The value of color can be seen when you look at how the shades go from A dark a pale light. the value of shares flows seamlessly through the painting as the dark rock he stands on matches his shoe, then the deep mist from the ocean waves flow with his name blue suit and finally, the pale pink sunset matches the fire red hair upon the man’s head. The second element is of harmony is complementary to the value where it seems that everything from the waves to the sunset match in a harmonious palette of colors to create a mysterious painting. Of course, it also goes without saying that the line work in this painting is great with almost solid lines in the transitions of each color segment. I personally like this painting although Romanticism isn’t my favorite era of are this specific painting does the era justice with its real-world mystery feel.

wanderer_above_the_sea_of_fog_300px
Another Detailed painting from the Romanticism era is The Nightmare painted by Henry Fuseli. The painting was done in 1781 in Switzerland right at the beginning of the Romantic art period and was, in fact, a large influence of later dark painting to come. The Nightmare shows the sheer features of the escape from reality as in the painting it shows a small demon sitting on a woman’s chest while a horse peers through red drapes. The painting has strong Characteristics of many art elements, however, Proportion, Emphasis and Value stand out most to me. The paintings obvious use of proportion make is so the viewer can get an idea of how big the demon or mythical object is by comparing it to real objects in the picture such as the women and horse head. The second element of Emphasis becomes apparent as the first thing to grab a viewers attention is the Realistic yet mythical painting of a small harry demon just off center of the painting it puts actual emphasis or eye-catching to what you are looking at. The value in this painting is a very strong element as well with the use of dark shades to present the feeling of evil. I personally don’t like this painting especially the use of the unrealistic characters. this is a great representation of what I believe to be the flaw with Romanticism art.
nightmare
In the second half of the 19th century came the art era of Realism. Realism was the first form of modernism in art. Its belief that everyday life and modernism could be used as subjects for art. The era of Realism became a momentous movement that brought forth many different ideas to art most of which can be found in the art to this day. Realism art is characterized by everyday life being brought to the canvas and how life is and was structure through all subjects such as economic class, political views, and socially.
The oil painting Eight Bells done by Winslow Homer is a magnificent work that was done in America in the year 1886 depicts two sailors trying to determine there ships position while on the high seas. In the planning, although the subject is investing it is not at all unrealistic it just a brief image of a scene one would see while being a part of the navy. The work has very strong elements of  Shape, rhythm, and perspective. The Element of perspective is what first pops out as you can see that you are looking for another person perspective view tow men on the same ship. The element of Shape or form begins to come to life when you look at the surroundings and see that they are but just a small blip of the massive ship they are on along with the sea. The third element of rhythm is visible when you look into the detail of the waves you fell the uneasy ness of the water as it crashes beside there boat. I would have to say that I am a big fan of this painting I love the feeling it brings the viewer, the feeling that you yourself are witnessing these men find their bearings I also love the use of the darker tones to present the scene of a dark and shadowy day.
WinslowHomer-Eight_Bells_1886
The second realism painting and final painting I have chosen is Morning in a Pine Forest painted by two separate artists Ivan Shishkin and Konstantin Savitsky. The painting was done in Russia in 1889 the bears were painted by Savitskywhile all of the realism scenery was painted by Shishkin. The painting has many strong elements of which I think Form, Space, and Harmony are the strongest elements presented. The Element of form is easily spotted in the painting as the four bears take shape separately from the landscape background. The second Element of Space is visible when you look at the actual demensions presented in the landscape and the third element of Harmony has to be its best characteristics the painting showes the harmony of nature as every things seems put to gether as if you yourself are witnissing these beares forage throught the forest. The Painting Morning in a pine forest is my favorite of all of these paintings i love the simplicity of the work and the realness of the scene your witnissing I also think it increddible that two seppret artist can colabe to make such a briliant peice.
Shishkin_MorningInThePineForest
Over all I would have to say that realism is my prefered form of art out of the two. I love the abilty it has to capture a moment in time with such great detail.

Classical blog assignment

During the 1700s and 1800s revolutions were happening frequently including grand revolutions such as the American, the French, and Haitian revolutions. Due to the nature of all the revolutions in the 1700s and 1800s and its effect it had on peoples lives it had the result of very beautiful and detailed classical art was being painted some of which were capable of capturing incredible moments in time. In this blog, I will review three of those works of art.

The first painting is The Surrender of  Lord Cornwallis. This work of art is a beautiful reflection of a Revolution being portrayed in art. The painting is capturing the surrender of the British army to the newly formed American government in 1781 which was the end of the last major campaign in the American Revolution.

Cornwallis

The Surrender of Lord Cornwallis was painted by John Trumbull in 1819 and currently resides in the rotunda of the United States Capitol In Washington D.C.. The painting is an excellent example of NeoClassical painting. It shows beautiful cemetery and detailed figures, it also shows a story of Heroism all while keeping the feeling of a cold isolated moment in a history and emotional event in time. Like many Revolution painting the tones are darker and a feeling a fading light is being shown around the Hero or victor. in this case, a shadow is being cast upon the British army while a light is surrounding the American General Benjamin Lincoln riding on a white horse. one of my favorite features of this painting is the clever use of smoke in the distance to portray that a great battle has taken place but is also uses it as the shadow cast over the opponents of the battle of which a light shines on the hero.

The second work of art I have chosen is the Classical Revolution painting  Liberty Leading The People. This is a painting was painted in 1831 by Artist Eugene Delacroix and currently resides in The louver. The painting is a depicting of the revolution in Paris on July 28, 1830, known as Trois Glorieuses that removed Charles X the Bourbon king from his throne.

Liberty

I feel That this painting is extremely strong with NeoClassical ideas and techniques. For starters, the painting is using darker tones to depict a period in time that held great emotional and Historical Significance. The half-naked Lady in the middle was painted like that of a renaissance or greek painting would have been, covered in a loose dress falling down past her breast while she marches her brigade forward into battle. the painting is also showing more strong examples of themes in the revolution by highlighting the main hero or protagonist in a beautiful ray of light. my favorite thing about this painting is the depiction of a women leader. In most Revolution paintings the Protagonist is a strong and intelligent man from history whereas in this painting it is a beautiful woman leading a revolution of men and women.

The third work of art I have chosen is Washington Crossing the Delaware by Emanuel Leutze. The work was painted in 1851 and depicted Washington’s attack on the Hessians at Trenton in 1776. This work is one of the most famous works o Neoclassical Revolution art. and has the major characteristics to show it such as its depiction of an important historical revolutionary even and the showing of a strong famous character

Washington_Crossing_the_Delaware_by_Emanuel_Leutze,_MMA-NYC,_1851.jpg

The painting is very strong with neoclassical works such as the style of a renaissance themed depiction of people hard at work each with there own unique details. The painting also has the famous revolution depiction of the Hero ( George Washington) being surrounded by a beam of light and coming out from the darkness. my favorite part to this paining though is the sens of antinolism i get as american citisen thinkng about allof the battles that were fought in order that we could get to the point we are at today.

Baroque: The Crucified Christ

The painting The Crucified Christ Painted By Velazquez, Diego Rodriguez around 1632 is, in my opinion, an incredible piece from the Baroque Period. The art perfectly shares features containing Baroque characteristics with its dark and grim image of a recently deceased Jesus and at the same time shows the religious influence that was present in art. The painting, when finished, was believed to have been commissioned for the San Placido Convent Sacristy and although Velazquez had many paintings, this was one of the very few that contained religious content.

The work appeals to me as it does a good job of capturing the single moment of bliss after the death of Christ where he looks peaceful rather than having suffered a tragic death. The art also has a strong link with the Council of Trent as it was painted following the idea of presenting the history of the church through religious artwork. The work was also painted in Spain where the Catholic church played a major influence in the art and the day to day lives of the citizens living there.

The Crucified Christ is very similar to the work Crucifixion Painted by Matthias Grunewald during the Renaissance. Both works show a deceased Christ showing a very beautiful body even though recently deceased. However, Crucifixion shows people mourning at the base of the cross which is in accordance with renaissance and humanistic paintings.

Madonna Of Bruges

Madonna of Bruges

Picture from https://www.michelangelo.org/madonna-of-bruges.jsp

The sculpture Madonna of Bruges is a beautiful sculpture done by Michelangelo made around 1504 during the Italian Renaissance in Italy. After the sculpture was completed it was taken to The Flemish city of Bruges Wich is how it received its name Madonna Of Bruges. This sculpture stands out to me due to it seemingly perfect smoothness. The Madonna Of  Bruges also reminds me of the hardship that Mary was to go through to raise Baby Jesus. One of my favorite things about an artwork that depicts Jesus as a young boy through early adulthood is that it is a time undocumented in the bible therefore these artists works make sure that that time of his life is recognized and at the same time somewhat left to there own interpretation of what Jesus had looked like.

The Madonna Of Bruges is a beautiful piece that shows Influences of humanism. The work shows the Mother Mary with a sad face upon her young Baby Jesus almost as if she knows the fate he will suffer later in life. Quoting Michelangelo.net   “Both mother and child seem to be aware of an invisible congregation of worshippers. Michelangelo may have intended to portray the two figures as divine, looking down on humankind. It’s almost as if Mary, in the role of a queen, is exhibiting the Christ child to her subjects.” Altho I believe this work represents humanism due to its peaceful nature and relations to Christianity I was never able to find a source who would openly agree that it was a true work of humanistic Art rather just sources who leaned in that direction.

The Maddon Of Bruges by Michelangelo although a popular and beautiful piece it is still one of his less popular pieces as not as many people have shown interest is solving the true mystery of its meaning. This makes it an instant favorite to me as it a leaves a sense of mystery when you look at it as you truly wonder what The artist Michelangelo was thinking as he sculpted this piece. However, as much as I love looking at this piece I don’t see myself ever owning a copy one of my own as the true beauty could never be recreated.

The Falling water House

The work of Art that I have chosen to share today is A picture of a very famous house called “The Falling Water House”. This Beautiful house is a work of Art that was first designed in 1936 by Edgar Kaufman and built 1 year later 1937. This house is one of the first examples of modern organic architecture, Which is an architecture that is built surrounded by nature or incorporated with nature to make its self-look as though it too belongs in its environment.

Fallingwater_Spring_

“The Falling Water House” was built and still stands to this day in Bear Run Pennsylvania, this work of organic architecture is full of Art Elements that in my opinion make it one of a kind and a truly inspiring piece of work. The first and in my opinion best element about this work of architecture is the gradation. In this work, the stone on the walls of the house seamlessly flow into the base which then lays upon a stone waterfall creating an elusion that the house its self might have been carved from the stone leaving only a slot for the water to pour through this feature s also linked with its second key feature which is Harmony as this house sits on top of the water fall its as if the house was meant to be there almost if the house is just another formation in the bear run forest.

If you want to see what this house looks like right now as you are reading this chech out the live web cam hear.

I First moved to Alaska from Thatcher Arizona In 2012 with my family and attended North Pole high school graduating in the class of 2015. Since I moved to Alaska I have been able to better explore and participate in many of my favorite hobbies such as Hunting, Fishing, Camping and just about anything else that involves the outdoors, At first, Alaska was just another place to move but I am now very proud to call it my home. I am starting this blog so that I may participate In my Art 200x class but don’t let that fool you as I am very excited to check out the world of blogging as it’s always been something that has interested me.

My relationship with art is kind of a weird one, while I have always loved to look at different forms of art I have never really considered myself an artist in any way. Growing up as a kid I took lots of art classes from paint and ceramics to Photography and Native arts. Although I always seemed to enjoy myself I never really got the hang of it at least not enough to make it a hobby or skill of mine. One form of art I do enjoy creating whether its good or not is photography, living in this beautiful state of Alaska gives an unlimited opportunity for gorgeous photos and I like to take advange of that opportunity!
